Textured Assets













Suicide Racers - post week 9/24/2011

The Stages that I am currently in for the game Suicide Racers are near the end of the game. All the assets are done and the texturing. The only assest that is not done or textured is again the car! The car model was going a little better this week but the file ended being corrupted so that is still currently being worked on and will be textured soon. What I could improve is the starting of the programming, which I have some scripts, but I could spend more time on to make Suicide Racers a fuctional game.

I did change my milestone this week because of the fact that the car model is not finished so all of the texturing is not finished. Other than that all of the other assets are textured and finished.

Well the texturing problem that I was having was really just time consuming and time managment. Looking back on this process it was not too difficult just time consuming.

What is working in Suicide Racers, as a whole, is the game. For the most part I am on pace to finish the game and have a working prototype by 10/01/2011 as planned. What is not working is this car model and in turn there is no texture for the car. As soon as the car is modeled than the texture will be completed and shouldn't take too long to complete.

Some of the problems for Suicide Racers again is the modeling of the car. It was going better since this last post and then the power cut off at my house and corrupted the data. I had a back up but that was an older save file so I'm just really continuing from that model now.

The project as whole is coming along pretty well. Once the car is finsihed, the texture will be on the car and will be finished. Scripting is going pretty well too. Just a little worried about programming a lap script to determine what lap the player is on and when to start the next level. Other than that Suicide Racers should have a working prototype by 10/01/2011

Assets













Suicide Racers - post week 9/17/2011

The stages of Suicide Racers are going pretty good. The asset list is finished and all of the assets are finished outside of the race car. I am having a little bit of troubling the car as this is my first car model. I can improve by spending a little more time on modeling this race car and probably looking up a few tutorials.

No Milestones has been changed. The race car will be finished by today and then I will begin on the texturing of all the assets.

The problems that I am dealing with is again that there is not enough time in the day and starting different assets even though I am not finished with the others. That should not be a problem for the next Milestone considering that all I am doing is texturing.

What is working are the Milestones that I have set in order to complete Suicide Racers. However, the few things that are going against me is the race car model and time itself, which I cannot change or stop.

The project as whole is coming along and I now feel that the Scope is managable with the right time management. Milestone 3 will be completed by 9/24/2011 and all of the assets on the asset list except for the Scripts part will be completed and ready will be ready to create a playable version of Suicide Racers

Suicide Racers - post week of 9/10/2011

The stages of the project of Suicide racers so far are that some of the modeling is being finished. Race track 1 is almost finished, race track 2 has been started, and race track 3 will be started soon. No remote cars have been modeled yet but will be started soon. Improving on these drawbacks would be using references for the modeling and better managing of my time.

I have not really changed my milestones as of yet. Milestone 2 will be completed by 9/17/2011 as accordingly as planned.

I'm dealing with the problems by starting different models at the same time to compensate for the modeling.

What is working is the modeling. What isn't working is that I am the sole artist on the team and by myself. But I will reach my goal of Milestone 2

Just really spent some time on the modeling and trying to finish up the asset list.

The project as whole is coming along however, I'm just afraid that the Scope may be to big. On the other hand I still feel confident that I can reach my Milestone 2 by 9/17/2011

High Concept Document
Welcome to the most homicidal, suicidal, genocidal racing you will ever know!

Storyline
You are the car, Phantom Danger, and this car takes no prisoners. Phantom Danger is hell on wheels. Phantom Danger was so close of winning the coveted; Suicide Cup last year when his teammate, Soul Hound, had deliberately launched a missile from behind and wrecked most of the car of Phantom Danger and Soul Hound ultimately won the Suicide Cup. A year has pasted and a new season begins. Will this be the year that Phantom Danger finally wins the Suicide cup and gets revenge on Soul Hound! Or will it be another disappointing year for Phantom Danger again!

Unique Selling Points
The player will be in a race car not only to win the race but get revenge on Soul Hound. The player will be controlling the car on a remote control race track with remote control cars. The game will have power ups after each of the races. The game will feature weather conditions on the race track as well.

The genre of this game will be racing of course but the theme of the game is a little more of a mechanical whacky game. The game will be the player controlling his car on a remote control race track and driving his remote control car.

The target platform will be for the PC.

The target market for Suicide Racers will be for 10 year olds. The gender will be for little boys

Game Plan of Attack
What needs to be done is the modeling and texturing of the remote control race tracks and remote control cars. The modeling will come first and then the texturing of both the remote control race tracks and remote control cars will be started on then finished. These assets will be tracked by an Excel Spreadsheet and will be checked off when completed. The team will keep track of the project via computers, flash drives, and Dropbox.com.

Milestones 2 and 3

Milestone 2 – An asset list in Microsoft Excel of every asset in the game and all of the modeling of the remote control race tracks and race cars be completely done.

Milestone 3 – All of the texturing be completed and start the programming of Suicide Racers.

Suicide Racers

The stages in the project are so far just concept documents. I could improve on this document by finalizing the document in order to get production underway.

Some milestones that have been changes is not only finalizing the game but also a revision of the game Suicide Racers. The reason why this been decided to change the game is due to Scope.

I dealt with this problem by simplifying the game. In other words I changed up the realism concept to a more whacky tone.

What is working is the revision of the concept document however, setting up the milestones is a little difficult considering I am the only one working on this game.

The time spent on this problem was just setting some goals and knowing my limitations.

The project is coming along with a few problems. The concept document seems to be going pretty well and just need really sit and think about the milestones and how they will be achieved.

Game Concept
So the concept of the game that I will be presenting to you is a game about a car on a destruction race course. In this game the player will take control of a car and win the race. Now in this game there is no driver. The player is strictly the car. The car is the character in the game and even has rivals. The game will also have power ups for the player and will also have road conditions. Some power ups may feature speed and projectile attacks, as well as defensive maneuvers. For the road conditions this will feature rainy, slippery roads, as well as snowy, icy conditions too.

Basic Storyline

Basic Gameplay
The basic gameplay of the game is that the game is a driving game. The player will have different obstacles and mini goals to achieve throughout the game and in a race. The player will choose and gain power ups after each level they complete and depending on the position of what the player finished in his or hers last race.
